Chad West
December 15, 1986 — May 30, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chad West, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who departed this life on May 30, 2026, at Parkview Hospital in Mexia, Texas, at the age of 39. Chad was born on December 15, 1986, in Waco, Texas, and from the moment he entered this world, he brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Chad was the cherished son of the late Valeresa and Lewis West, who preceded him in passing and are now reunited with him in eternal peace. He was the treasured brother of Symotheressa (Mochie) Hobbs and Synotheressa Hobbs, and sister Kescha Hobbs, who, along with his grandmothers, Lee Ellen Hobbs and Elizabeth West, and grandfathers, Lee Milton Hobbs and A.Z. West, shaped the person he became with love and guidance. Chad was also blessed with a large extended family, including a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
In his earthly journey, Chad found immense support and love in his "second parents," LaTisa Hobbs Cooper and Dewayne Cooper. He is survived by his brothers, Chris (Giz) West of Mexia, Denis and Chris West of Waco, and DreVaun Cooper of Mexia, Texas. His sisters, Shea Cooper and Briuna Cooper of Mexia, Texas, Christine McWilliams of Waco, Texas, and Adriena Gardner of Arlington, Texas, will continue to carry forward his legacy of kindness and warmth.
Chad was a proud graduate of Mexia High School, Class of 2009, and furthered his education at Centex ARC, where he cultivated his love for learning and growth. A man of faith, Chad attended Greater Little Zion Baptist Church, where his spirit of camaraderie and fellowship touched many lives.
Chad found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for music and could often be found immersed in its melodies, letting the rhythm be his guide. Television also provided him a window to the world, where he enjoyed countless hours of storytelling and entertainment.
Though Chad did not have children of his own, his legacy is carried on by the numerous lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering support. His nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service to celebrate Chad's life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life that brought so much joy and love into the world.
Chad West's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. May he rest in peace, enveloped in the eternal love of those who have gone before him.
