It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Cesar Cruz Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, companion, and friend, who left this world peacefully on February 27, 2026. Born on December 20, 1943, in Central Falls, RI, Cesar lived a life marked by love, resilience, and a passion for bringing joy to others.
Cesar was the cherished son of the late Beatrice Pelletier and Cesar Cruz Sr. He is predeceased by his devoted brother Randall Cruz and his beloved wife, Mary Cruz. He is survived by his loving children, Cesar Cruz III and Rachel Cruz, who were the pride of his life. His legacy continues through his three adored grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and laughter. Cesar also shared a deep bond with his companion, Marie Saccucci, her children, and grandchildren, who embraced him as family.
A proud veteran, Cesar served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. His commitment to service and community was a guiding principle throughout his life. Following his military service, Cesar pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant College. He further enriched his life by obtaining a license in Massage Therapy and certification in Reflexology, skills he used to bring comfort and healing to others.
For many years, Cesar worked as a dedicated letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. His warm smile and kind words were a welcome presence on his daily routes, and he made lasting friendships with coworkers and community members alike.
Cesar’s greatest passion was dance. A self-taught dancer, he first caught the public's eye as a teenager on the Dave Senate show. He continued to share his love of dance throughout his life, mastering styles such as swing, west coast swing, ballroom, and Latin. His graceful movements and infectious enthusiasm lit up every room, and he found joy in teaching others to dance, sharing in the happiness it brought them.
Despite his battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia, Cesar faced each day with courage and grace, a testament to his enduring strength of character. His spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to inspire those around him with his unwavering positivity and gentle demeanor.
Cesar Cruz Jr. will be remembered as a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Cesar’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor the remarkable journey of a truly exceptional man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to organizations supporting Parkinson’s and Dementia research, in hopes of finding a cure for these challenging diseases.
Cesar's presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever dance in our hearts.
