March 24, 1929 — July 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Celeste Brame, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who left us on July 20, 2026, at her home in Goodyear, Arizona. Born on March 24, 1929, in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Celeste Bernice Pruitt was a beacon of love and strength throughout her 97 years of life. Celeste was the cherished daughter of Nethal Brannon and William Pruitt, and the devoted sister to her predeceased siblings Roy and Doyle Pruitt, as well as Vercie Scott and Barbara Rhodes. From an early age, she showed a remarkable sense of responsibility and care, helping her family in the cotton and grape fields of the San Joaquin Valley in California. As the eldest child, she played a significant role in raising her younger siblings, a testament to her nurturing nature. She attended elementary school in Oklahoma before the family relocated to California, where she continued her education at Riverdale High in Riverdale. It was there that she cultivated many friendships and developed a passion for community service. On January 31, 1969, Celeste married the love of her life, Hank Brame, in Fresno, California. Together, they shared 39 wonderful years of marriage until Hank's passing in 2008 in Northridge, California. Their union was blessed as together they raised her two daughters, Cheryl Charles, who survives her, and the late Charlotte Style. Celeste was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Denna and Dania Sutton, and Adam and Amber Style, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Celeste's life was enriched by her involvement in various organizations throughout the years. Her spirit of giving extended to being a choir member at the First Church of God in Inglewood for many years. Later in life she and Hank moved to Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley to be near their daughters and grandkids. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, for their compassionate care and support during her final months. A memorial service to celebrate Celeste's life will be held on August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Angeles Funeral Home, located at 3875 S. Crenshaw Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Celeste's memory to the Alzheimer's Research Association, based in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. Though she is no longer with us, Celeste's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
