Born on December 26, 1953, in Jackson, Mississippi, Cecile was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength to all who were privileged to know her. Cecile's life was a tapestry woven with profound love and dedication. She was the beloved daughter of Edward Ginn, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. Cecile embraced these virtues throughout her life, touching the hearts of family, friends, and countless others. A devoted wife to Jimmy Washington, Cecile shared a remarkable journey of love and companionship. Together, they built a family filled with joy and laughter, creating a legacy of warmth and unity. Though the pain of her departure is immeasurable, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her surviving family members: her partner, Jimmy Washington, and her cherished children, Altreon, Jamelia, Tish, and Jenelle Washington. Cecile was predeceased by several family members, including Altreon, Jamelia, Jimmy, Lamar, Jenelle, Saroy, and Tish Washington, whose memories she carried with her throughout her life. Despite the losses she faced, Cecile's heart remained open and full of love, particularly for her 12 grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her legacy will continue through them as they carry forward her values and love. A service to honor Cecile's life will be held on May 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Pernel Jones Funeral Home, located at 7120 Cedar Avenue. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Cecile are invited to join in celebrating the life of this extraordinary woman.
