Cecil Carl

January 16, 1949 — July 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecil Carl, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on July 15, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on January 16, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Cecil was the cherished son of the late Theopolis and Grace. He was the proud brother of the late Theopolis Hise and is survived by his siblings Arthur Stubbs, Gloria Jean Hise, Derrick Hise, Ronny Hise (and wife Anita), Sharron Langston, Kathy Langston (and husband Ralph), Tashi Hale, and Kara Hale-Bryan (and husband James). Cecil's journey through life was enriched by his loving and devoted spouse, Lynn Stubbs, with whom he shared countless adventures and tender moments. Together, Cecil and Lynn raised two wonderful children, Tishawn Stubbs and Carlton Stubbs, who will forever cherish the guidance, wisdom, and love their father imparted. Cecil's legacy continues to live on through his treasured grandchild, Jordan Purifey, and his great-grandchild, who brought immense joy to his later years. Cecil was a man of creativity and passion. He found joy in expressing himself through his drawings and culinary creations. His love for adventure was evident in his admiration for Jacque Cousteau and his penchant for watching the Discovery Channel and other adventure shows. Cecil and Lynn shared a love for the outdoors, often seen walking or biking through the streets of Pomona, California, where their presence was a testament to their vibrant spirit and love for life. Cecil's warmth, creativity, and adventurous soul will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a canvas painted with love, exploration, and family, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Cecil's memory to a charitable organization of your choice as a tribute to his generous and adventurous spirit.
