Born on March 2, 1950, in Chatham, Virginia, Cathy was the beloved daughter of Lawrence and Inez Younger Davis. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and the gentle beauty of her hometown. Cathy was predeceased by her dear sisters, Willie Mae Lipford, Margie Robertson, and Mattie Coles, whose memories she cherished deeply and whose spirits she now joins in eternal rest.
Cathy's life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and grace. She was a dedicated member of Fairview Church, where she found strength and solace in her faith, and where she forged lifelong friendships with fellow congregants. Her spirituality was a guiding light, inspiring those around her with her compassion and humility.
The heart of Cathy’s world was her family. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Wanda Green of Danville, Virginia, and Samantha Davis of North Carolina, and a son, James Tisdell Jr. of Maryland. Her children were her greatest joy, and she nurtured them with love, wisdom, and an unyielding belief in their potential. Cathy’s love extended to her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her gentle spirit and infectious laughter. Her legacy will live on in each of them, a testament to her enduring influence and boundless affection.
