In Loving Memory

Cathy Grabofsky
December 7, 1955 — June 6, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life filled with love, we announce the passing of Cathy Grabofsky, who left this world too soon on June 6, 2026. Born on December 7, 1955, in Malta, Montana, Cathy was the beloved daughter of Alma and Orville Jones. Throughout her life, she touched so many people with her kindness, generosity, and beautiful smile.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Orville; her sister, Karen Perez; and her brother, Andy Jones. She leaves behind a family who will forever hold her close in their hearts, including her loving husband of 36 years, Joe Grabofsky. Cathy and Joe were married on April 14, 1990, in their hometown of Malta, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Fester, Ron Gaines (Lori), and Rhonda Mulligan (Mike), who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, JoAnne Ferrell. Her love lives on through her nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless happiness.
Cathy had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel comfortable, valued, and loved. Whether she was sharing stories around the table or telling a joke at just the right moment, she brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she loved nothing more than having her loved ones gathered together over coffee, cards, and conversation.
She enjoyed camping, shopping, and yard sales, but what mattered most to her was the time spent with the people she loved. Those simple moments became treasured memories that her family will carry with them forever. Cathy was the kind of person who would give anything she could to help someone in need. Her generous heart and caring spirit were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love and lessons Cathy left behind. She showed us how to care for others, how to be generous, and how to appreciate the people around us. Though she is no longer here with us, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Her family shares this special message:
"Rest peacefully, Mom. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten. There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts. We love you always. The world feels a little less bright without you, but heaven has gained a beautiful angel."
A celebration of Cathy's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the love she gave so freely. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider performing an act of kindness in her memory, something Cathy did every day through the way she lived her life.
May Cathy Grabofsky rest in peace, forever loved and forever remembered.
