Obituary of Cathy Dumler It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Cathy Dumler, who departed this world on April 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at her cherished home. Born on October 22, 1950, in Beatrice, Nebraska, Cathy was the beloved daughter of William and Janet Eyth, both of whom preceded her in death. Her journey through life was marked by an unwavering faith, an infectious optimism, and a dedication to family and community that left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Cathy's early years were spent in Beatrice, where she graduated from Beatrice High School in 1969. She furthered her education at the University of Nebraska, where she became a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta, forging friendships that withstood the test of time. It was also during these formative years that Cathy met the love of her life, Doug Dumler. They were united in marriage on June 2, 1973, embarking on a remarkable journey of love and partnership that spanned over five decades. Together, they built a family and nurtured friendships that have been a source of strength and joy throughout their lives. Cathy dedicated 25 years of her career to the Poudre School District, where she was not only an esteemed colleague but also a beacon of positivity and inspiration to students and staff alike. Her contributions extended beyond her professional life as she was an active member of PEO, an organization close to her heart, where her leadership and compassion were profoundly felt. A woman of deep faith, Cathy approached life's challenges with a pair of rose-colored glasses, always finding the silver lining and seeing the world through the lens of hope and grace. Her positive outlook, grounded in her faith in the Lord, served as a guiding light to many, offering comfort and encouragement even in the face of her own battle with pancreatic cancer. Cathy is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Doug; her loving daughters, Abbie and Julie; and her two adored grandchildren, Elena and Luke, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her stepmother Joyce, her sister Sally, and her brother Tom, all of whom cherished her dearly. A celebration of Cathy's life will be held on May 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Timberline Church, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, reflecting Cathy's enduring spirit and dedication to fighting the disease that ultimately claimed her life. The Dumler family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical teams and staff at Pathways Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Cathy's final days. Their kindness and support were a source of comfort to Cathy and her family. Cathy Dumler's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift. May she rest in peace, forever cherished and lovingly remembered.
