With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine S Dunn Grayko, who departed this world on June 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born on September 11, 1965, in the warm embrace of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Cathy graced this earth with her generous spirit and unwavering kindness for 60 beautiful years. Cathy was the cherished daughter of Edward J Dunn and Helena A Dunn. She is predeceased by her father, Edward, whose loving spirit she carried forward in her own life. She leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend of 47 years, Brian S Grayko. Their marriage, spanning 26 years, was a testament to a profound and enduring partnership filled with laughter, adventures, and an unbreakable bond. Cathy is also survived by her dear stepdaughter, Kayla Grayko, with whom she shared many cherished moments, especially their shared love for fishing. A proud graduate of the food service program at Davies Technical High School in 1983, Cathy pursued her passion for cooking and serving others with a heart full of love. Her career evolved as she found a new calling with United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), where she devoted herself to the compassionate care of the disabled, embodying the values of empathy and service that defined her life. Cathy's commitment to making the world a better place extended beyond her immediate circles. She was an ardent lover of nature and a dedicated supporter of numerous charities focusing on the environment, people, and animals. Her contributions were not only financial but deeply personal, as she poured her heart into causes close to her soul. Known for her warm smile, generous heart, and keen intellect, Cathy formed many lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply. Her friend, Dana E Aspinall, eloquently captured the essence of Cathy by stating, "I had come to know Cathy as one of the kindest, most human beings I have ever met." These words reflect the profound impact Cathy had on everyone she encountered, leaving an indelible mark of love and kindness. In honor of Cathy's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hope Health Hospice Center, whose compassion and support provided immense comfort during Cathy's final days. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team at HHHC for the love and care they offered not only to Cathy but to all who held her dear. Cathy's legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched. As we navigate the sorrow of her loss, we celebrate the remarkable life she led and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will continue to inspire us to embrace the world with the same warmth and generosity she so naturally exuded. May she rest in peace, forever fishing in the serene waters of eternity, surrounded by the love she so deeply cherished.
