It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Catherine Marion McLaughlin. Born on January 10, 1952, in the quaint town of Wellsville, New York, Catherine departed this life on July 17, 2026, surrounded by her adoring family, who held her hand as she peacefully transitioned from this world, concluding her brave battle with non-small cell carcinoma. Catherine's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering strength. Despite her illness, her spirit remained unbroken and her heart full of warmth and kindness. Those who knew Catherine will remember her as a beacon of hope and compassion, whose love knew no bounds. She cherished her family above all, finding immense joy in the laughter and happiness of her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Catherine was predeceased by her dear husbands, Richard A. Confer and James P. McLaughlin, and her cherished son, Adam S. Confer. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughters, Dawn Boyd (Scott) and Erin Carello (Nathaniel), who were her greatest pride. She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Adam, Logan, Phionia, Sophia, Mason, Riley, Hannah, and Emili, and her beautiful great-granddaughter, Kinley, who brought her immeasurable joy and the brightest of smiles. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate Catherine's life and honor her memory on July 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The service will be a time to share stories, laughter, and tears as we remember the incredible woman who touched so many lives with her grace and generosity. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Catherine's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization she held in high esteem. Contributions will help continue the work of supporting those who have valiantly served. Catherine Marion McLaughlin's journey on Earth may have ended, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and at peace, free from pain. Her memory will be cherished, and her life celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
