Catherine Marie Morgan

Catherine Marie Morgan, a beloved matriarch, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on January 19, 1950, in Oxford, North Carolina, Catherine graced the world with a presence that was both gentle and profoundly impactful. The daughter of Alex Morgan Jr. and Catherine Rebecca "Beck" Morgan, Catherine was raised in a home rich with love and faith. She was predeceased by her parents, her grandparents Everett "Hub" Brandon and Nellie Richardson Brandon, three brothers James "Buck" Brandon, Jesse Lee Brandon, and Alexander Morgan, three sisters Mary Robertson, Anna Mae Franklin, and Diane Morgan Bobbitt, her loving son Kevin Wayne "Big Wayne" Morgan, her great-grandson Noah Alexander Robinson, and her dear friend Libby Webb. Despite these profound losses, Catherine's spirit remained resilient and her heart open. Catherine is survived by her devoted children: her son Michael B Morgan of Oxford, NC, and her daughters Edna Laverne Morgan and Catherine Rebecca Morgan, both of Henderson, NC, and Alexandra Morgan Davis of South Carolina. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandsons, six granddaughters, and twenty-five great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Onia Maxine Royster of Raleigh, NC, her brothers Allen Morgan of Franklinton, NC, and Edward J. "Nuke" Morgan (Joyce) of Oxford, NC, and her brother-in-law Louis Franklin of Brooklyn, NY. Catherine's aunts, Delores Bowers and Ada White of Baltimore, MD, along with her close friend Josephine Glover, extended family, and many friends, will remember her with love. Catherine's career as a housekeeper at Oxford Manor/Universal Healthcare spanned over 15 years, where she was known for her dedication and compassion until her retirement in 2012. She was a committed member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she found great joy in worship and community. A woman of simple pleasures, Catherine delighted in watching Steve Harvey on Family Feud, indulging in the Food Network, and following "Days of our Lives." She had a penchant for crime and horror shows, enjoyed fishing, and had a green thumb that brought life to her garden. Her love for family gatherings was matched only by her enjoyment of KFC pot pies and sweet tea. Catherine's life was defined by her beautiful smile and even kinder heart. She was known for her generous spirit, never turning away those in need, and always ensuring no one went hungry. Her ability to connect with others was unmatched, and she truly "never met a stranger." In the words of her family: "Our family extends our deepest gratitude to our relatives, friends, neighbors, and everyone who walked alongside us throughout this journey.
