Catherine Louise Nordwell
November 20, 1950 — July 19, 2026
Catherine Louise Nordwell, lovingly known as Cathy, passed away on July 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. Born on November 20, 1950, in Oak Harbor, WA, Cathy was the cherished daughter of Fred and Verna Tesch. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and her dear daughter, Heather Nordwell.
Cathy's journey began in the nurturing arms of her hometown, where she developed a deep sense of community and love for the natural world. She graduated from Goldendale High School and pursued further education in the medical field, becoming an EMT and later working in nursing. Cathy's career was a testament to her compassionate spirit; she devoted many years to being a stay-at-home mom before serving her community at KVH and as part of the ambulance crew. Her passion for helping those in need was evident in her every action and interaction.
A woman of many talents, Cathy found joy in crafting of all kinds, from stamping and card-making to cross-stitch and crochet. Her creativity knew no bounds, and she shared her beautifully crafted gifts with friends and family alike. Cathy also held a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, spending countless summers camping at Mt. Adams. Her love for huckleberry picking, elk scouting, and firewood gathering created lasting memories with her family as they basked in the fresh mountain air.
Cathy's love for life extended to her later years, where she enjoyed the thrill of Nascar racing and the comfort of a good book. Her vibrant personality and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her.
Cathy is survived by her loving children, Kyle Nordwell (Sheri Nordwell) and Josh Nordwell (Alicia Nordwell), who continue to honor her legacy of love and kindness. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Wyatt, Annika, and Xander Nordwell, who were the light of her life. Cathy is also survived by her sister, Candy Green, who shared many cherished memories with her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Rick and Melany, Cathy's dear neighbors, who were always there for her when family could not be. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund or a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Cathy's generous spirit.
Catherine Louise Nordwell will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, her dedication to helping others, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she touched. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends as they carry her love forward.
