In Loving Memory

Catherine Goza
February 8, 1981 — June 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Goza, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who left this world on June 3, 2026, at the age of 45. Catherine passed away peacefully at her home in Georgia, surrounded by her loving husband, children, and family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born on February 8, 1981, in Atlanta, Georgia, Catherine was the cherished daughter of the late James and Deborah Bowles. She grew up in a warm and loving household alongside her siblings Gregory, Carson (Annalesse), Matt, Jeffrey (Morgan), and Shannon (Dominic). Catherine's childhood was filled with laughter, love, and the nurturing presence of her parents, who predeceased her and whom she cared for deeply until their passing.
Catherine's journey through life was marked by her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She shared a beautiful and enduring marriage with her husband, Red Goza, whom she married in 2004. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, love, and the joyful chaos of raising their three wonderful children: Timothy, Ryan, and Claudia. Catherine was a devoted mother whose world revolved around her family, and she took immense pride in watching her children grow.
A graduate of Meadow Creek High School, Catherine began her professional life at Waffle House at the age of 18 before pursuing a career as a nurse's aide. Her nurturing spirit and compassion shone brightly in her work, but it was her decision to become a stay-at-home mom that truly defined her life's purpose. Catherine embraced every moment spent nurturing her children and supporting them in their endeavors, from school activities to coaching soccer, t-ball, and Little League.
Catherine was a vibrant and active presence in her community, particularly within her children's school, where she was a dedicated volunteer and a cherished member of the PTA. Her enthusiasm and commitment made a lasting impact on all who knew her, even as her illness prevented her from continuing in these roles.
An adventurer at heart, Catherine cherished the great outdoors. She and her family spent countless weekends camping, swimming, and exploring parks, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Catherine's love for storytelling came alive in the evening hours as she read bedtime stories to her children, weaving tales that sparked their imaginations. Her creative spirit shone through in the arts and crafts projects she lovingly crafted with them.
Catherine's generosity knew no bounds, and her heart was as vast as her smile. She was known for her sweet, warm, and caring nature, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a joke to brighten someone's day. Her laughter was infectious, and she possessed an uncanny ability to make others feel seen and cherished, no matter the circumstances.
In addition to her immediate family, Catherine is survived by a large extended family, including her cherished nieces and nephews: Danielle, Lexi, Gabbie, Layla, Khloe, Genesis, Sarah, Ashley, and Malachi. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Catherine's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Catherine's memory consider acts of kindness in their communities, reflecting her spirit of generosity and compassion.
Catherine will forever be in our hearts and will never be forgotten. Her legacy will live on through her children, her husband, and the countless lives she touched. As her family lovingly expressed, "Catherine will forever be in our hearts and her legacy will live on through her kids and her husband and everything that she did for everybody."
