March 20, 1933 – March 18, 2026
On March 18, 2026, the world lost a beacon of love, warmth, and devotion. Catherine DiBattista (née Calatozzo) passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in the comforting presence of her family in St. Cloud, Florida. Born on March 20, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Catherine's life was a testament to unwavering faith, family devotion, and the joy of nurturing others.
Catherine was the cherished daughter of Salvatore and Angelina Calatozzo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Samuel DiBattista, and her brother, Bob Calatozzo (Chris). Her legacy is lovingly carried forward by her children: Connie O'Malley (Bill), Angie Hostutler (late Dennis), Cathy Thiewes (Mike), Sam DiBattista (Shearlean), Mike DiBattista (Debbie), and Patty Burvenich (Pete). Catherine's family extended beyond her immediate kin to include her brother Pete (Danna) and sister Livia (late John). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the rich tapestry of love she wove throughout her life.
Catherine's spiritual journey as a devout member of the Jehovah's Witnesses began in 1968 and continued steadfastly until her passing. Her life was a model of grace, patience, and kindness, reflecting the teachings of Jehovah God and emulating the footsteps of Jesus. Together with her husband Sam, she instilled these values in their children, creating a close-knit family whose bonds of love and faith are a lasting tribute to her nurturing spirit.
A true homemaker at heart, Catherine found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking, sewing, crocheting, and even taking on the challenges of wallpapering and painting. Her culinary skills were legendary, with her home-cooked meals, particularly her renowned escarole soup, delectable meatballs, and outstanding chocolate cake, becoming the centerpiece of countless family gatherings. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, often welcoming traveling overseers and offering them comfort and encouragement.
Catherine's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on April 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 3060 Glassboro Cross Keys Rd, Glassboro, NJ 08028. It will be a time to honor her life, her faith, and the love she shared so generously.
The DiBattista family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received during this difficult time. They are deeply appreciative of the meals, calls, texts, and prayers that have comforted and strengthened them. Your kindness and love are cherished more than words can express and will be remembered always.

With love,
The DiBattista Family
