Catherine Anderson

Catherine Anderson, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on May 8, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, Cathy was the beloved daughter of Tom and Nettie Parker, who predeceased her along with her siblings. Her legacy is carried forward by her cherished children: Mary (Paul), Patrick (Cathy), Theresa (Bill), Joseph (Julie), and Kenny (Lisa); her loving sister-in-law and lifelong best friend, Vickie; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Cathy also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins and numerous close friends who were like family to her. Cathy's life was a testament to love and devotion. On December 13, 1958, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Anderson, in Minneapolis, MN. Together they shared 45 wonderful years, raising five children and creating a home filled with laughter and love. Kenneth, who served in the Army in the late 1950s, was Cathy's steadfast partner and greatest love until his passing. For 30 years, Cathy dedicated her career to Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park, MN, where she worked as a kitchen manager. Her career was marked by her passion for cooking and her ability to bring people together through her culinary talents. A lifetime member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of VFW Post 494 in Crystal, MN, Cathy was deeply committed to her community. She found joy in dancing and spending time with her family and friends at the VFW, where she brightened every room she entered. Cathy's love for baking and decorating cakes was a shared passion with her daughter, Mary. Her stories of the past were cherished by all who listened, and her ability to make everyone's day brighter was a gift she shared freely. A service to celebrate Cathy's life will be held on August 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the VFW Post 494, located at 5222 Bass Lake Rd., Crystal, MN 55429. Family and friends are invited to gather in honoring her remarkable life and legacy. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support received during this difficult time.
