CASHAWN CARTER

October 6, 1993 — April 16, 2026

In loving memory of Cashawn Carter, who departed this world on April 16, 2026, at the age of 32. Cashawn was born on October 6, 1993, in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, a place that would shape his life and spirit in countless ways. Throughout his journey, Cashawn exemplified resilience, love, and compassion, values deeply instilled in him by his family and community. Cashawn was the cherished son of Casey Carter and the late Carmen Jones, who predeceased him along with his beloved sisters, Sierra Jones and Shaunay Lawrence-Brown, and his dear uncle, Terry Jones. Though their loss was profound, Cashawn carried their memory with him, honoring their lives in the way he lived each day. He is survived by a large and loving family who were blessed to share in his life. His grandmother, Verstein Jones, was a pillar of strength and wisdom for Cashawn, offering guidance and support. His aunts, Michelle Williams, Lashy King, and Chanera Miller, along with his uncle, Montoya Jones, were constant sources of love and laughter. Cashawn's brothers, Donte McFarland, Carl Dixon, Dwayne Howard, Lawrence Brown, and Toyrone Jones, along with his sisters, Latoya Brown and Carmen Hills, were his lifelong companions and confidants. He also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, and close friends who will forever cherish his memory. Cashawn's life was a testament to the power of community and the bonds of family. His warm smile and kind heart touched everyone he met, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. He was a beacon of positivity, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement. Cashawn found joy in the simple things, treasuring moments spent with loved ones and embracing the beauty of everyday life. In celebration of Cashawn's life, a service will be held on May 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Giddens Memorial Chapel Family Life Center, located at 2610 N Martin Luther King Boulevard. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Cashawn's memory, sharing stories of his kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit. As we say goodbye to Cashawn, let us carry forward his legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. May we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever guide us, and may we strive to live as he did—with an open heart and a generous spirit. Rest in peace, dear Cashawn. You are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, but your light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew you.
