In Loving Memory
Casey Renee Bentley
July 20, 1981 — May 17, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Casey Renee Bentley, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and caregiver. Casey was born on July 20, 1981, in Kendallville, Indiana, and was called home unexpectedly on May 17, 2026, leaving an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know her.
Casey was the cherished daughter of Robin Edsell and Randy Bentley. She is predeceased by her brother, Codie Bentley, her grandparents Jesse Messer, Carlyon Leighton, Walter Leighton, Linda Price, and her dear Aunt Rhonda Messer. Her spirit and love continue to live on through her surviving family members; Jewel and Marcus Otto, Emily, Skyler, and Angela Zimmerman,
Tasha Schadel, Brandon Bentley, Amanda Messer, Jeremiah Goble, Kendra Bentley, Jessica Bentley, Jordan Bentley, and Dalton Bentley. Casey was also the proud and adored grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
A proud alumnus of Prairie Heights, Casey graduated in 2000 and pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her CDM in 2004. Her dedication to her calling led her to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Science in 2008. Casey devoted her professional life to serving others as a Home Health Nurse with Irie Home Care, where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of many families.
Casey was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in crafting, always creating something beautiful with her hands. A fervent Batman enthusiast, she also cherished moments spent with loved ones, whether it was fishing, racing, or simply gathering together to celebrate life. Her dog Axle held a special place in her heart, and she loved him dearly.
Those who knew Casey will remember her as a woman with a heart as vast as the ocean. Her willingness to help others, even at her own expense, was a testament to her selfless nature. While she often enjoyed time alone, when surrounded by friends and family, Casey was the life of the party, lighting up the room with her radiant smile and infectious laughter. Her depth of love and compassion was evident in her every gaze, her beautiful eyes seemingly peering into the very soul of those she encountered.
Casey’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and light. Though her time with us was far too short, the impact of her generosity and warmth will be felt for generations. She taught us the true meaning of love and kindness, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing her.
A celebration of Casey's life will be held at a later date to honor her memory and share the joy she brought to our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter in memory of Casey's love for animals and her dog Axle.
Casey Renee Bentley will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light in times of darkness. Rest in peace, dear Casey. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
