Cary was born on May 31, 1942, in Anderson, South Carolina, to the late Cary Martin Sr. and Elizabeth Martin. He was a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Cary was predeceased by his devoted wife, Janie P. Martin, and his siblings, Melvin’s Patterson, Evelyn Edwards, Mae Webb, Pearl Paul, Rosella McEvelyn, Reba Black, and Jesse Martin. Despite the loss of his dear family members, Cary continued to be a beacon of strength and resilience, a testament to his unwavering spirit and love for those around him. He is survived by his sister, Bertha Gilbert, who shared a special bond with him, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and an extended family who will forever cherish his memory. Though he had no grandchildren or great-grandchildren, Cary's legacy is carried forward through the lives he touched and the enduring relationships he cultivated throughout his life. Cary dedicated over 50 years of his life to the construction industry, where he worked as a construction supervisor. His commitment to his craft and his dedication to excellence were evident in every project he undertook. Cary's work ethic and leadership were an inspiration to those who worked alongside him. Even after his official retirement at the age of 80, Cary remained a respected figure in his community, known for his honesty, integrity, and genuine care for others. A celebration of Cary's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, located at 1504 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262-4944. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were enriched by Cary's presence are invited to join in honoring the life of a remarkable man who will be deeply missed but ever in our hearts. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Cary's final days. Their kindness and professionalism provided comfort and support to both Cary and his family during this difficult time.
