Carrie Jean Sisty

Carrie Jean Sisty, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away on September 4, 2026 at the age of 55 (but if anyone ever asked, she was 21 forever). Born on March 18, 1971, in Tecumseh, Michigan, Carrie was the cherished daughter of Larry R. Sisty and Joann L. Sisty. Carrie lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family. Her children, Dustin (Kelsey) Sisty and Coleton Barkway, were the light of her life, and she took immense pride in watching them grow into the remarkable individuals they are today. Carrie was also blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Logan, Alice, and Beau Sisty, and Jameson Barkway, who brought boundless joy to her days. Carrie is survived by her devoted parents, Larry and Joann Sisty, who instilled in her a strong sense of family and community. She leaves behind her dear siblings, Raymond (Cindy) Sisty, Daniel Sisty, and Tina Sisty, all of whom shared countless cherished memories with her throughout the years. As well as one niece, four nephews, and five great nieces. Carrie's love for her family and friends was matched by her kindness and generosity toward everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her and was always ready with a warm smile or a helping hand. Her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. Carrie Jean Sisty's vibrant presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave. Carrie was extremely loved, there will be two celebrations of life. One for family and friends, the other for those who cared and loved her for her at Medilodge of Okemos. Dates are still being determined by the family.
