Carrick Lee Stafford

January 5, 1940 — May 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the peaceful passing of Carrick Lee Stafford, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend to many, at the age of 86. Carrick passed away quietly on May 7, 2026, at Autumn Care of Drexel, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Carrick was born on January 5, 1940, in the quaint and close-knit community of Spruce Spine, North Carolina. From the very beginning, he was a spirited soul, born to his adoring parents, Vester Lee Stafford and Pearl Mae Snyder Stafford. Carrick was the youngest sibling in a lively household that included his sisters, Helen Brown and Mildred Geouge, and brothers, Avery, Robert, and Freddie Stafford. His siblings have all preceded him in death, and we take comfort in knowing they are joyously reunited. Carrick's life was one characterized by his love for the simple pleasures, his infectious charisma, and his unwavering devotion to family and friends. An avid enthusiast of golf, Carrick spent countless afternoons on the greens, perfecting his swing and sharing laughter with fellow golf lovers. Sundays were sacred, as he would often be found cheering at the top of his lungs during the races or watching his beloved Braves with an enthusiasm that was contagious. Carrick had a penchant for engaging storytelling, and his wit was as sharp as ever. He was a man who left an indelible impression on everyone he met, greeting all with a warm smile and genuine interest. His love for the outdoors was unparalleled, and he cherished the time spent in nature, finding peace in the quiet beauty of the world around him. Carrick is survived by his two devoted daughters, Pearl May Jones and Cindy Church Jolly, who carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. His memory will be cherished by his five grandchildren, Ashley Craig, Charity Miller, Christy Arnette, Sarah Piper, and Joel Martin, who remember him as a guiding light in their lives. Furthermore, his nine great-grandchildren, Noah, Aria, Jack, Grayson, Luke, Mackenzie, Callie, Raylan, and Lily, will grow up hearing stories of his vibrant spirit and gentle wisdom. In this time of reflection, Carrick's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Autumn Care of Drexel and Drexel Hospice for their unwavering support and kindness during his final days. Carrick Lee Stafford lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable legacy he leaves behind—a legacy rooted in love, family, and the joy of life itself. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, let us carry forward his spirit of joy and kinship, ensuring that his memory shines brightly in our hearts forever. A private family service will be held to honor Carrick's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carrick's name to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of kindness and generosity.
