Carolyn Sue Oliver
December 29, 1944 — March 27, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Carolyn Sue Oliver. Carolyn peacefully departed this world on March 27, 2026, at Advent Health Littleton, after suffering a stroke during a medical procedure. She was 81.
Born on December 29, 1944, in the quaint town of Decatur, Arkansas, Carolyn entered the world as the beloved daughter of Glenn Arthur and Thelma Grace Redell. Growing up amidst the rolling hills of Arkansas, she was instilled with the values of hard work, kindness, and resilience.
Carolyn was a proud graduate of Golden High School, class of 1963. She embarked on her professional journey at Boise Cascade, where she worked as a dispatcher, a role that showcased her organizational skills and ability to bring calm to chaos. Later in life, Carolyn embraced the world of retail, finding joy and camaraderie at JC Penney's, where she formed lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike.
A spirited and adventurous soul, Carolyn was a member of the Denver Kicker's Dance Club, where she twirled gracefully to the rhythm of life, from square dancing to the country two-step. A true Renaissance woman, she also shared her passion for martial arts at Mile High Karate, practicing alongside her daughter and grandson.
Carolyn’s zest for life extended beyond the dance floor. She found solace and joy in her garden, nurturing her flowers with the same care she bestowed upon her loved ones. Her love for the great outdoors was a family affair, as she cherished hunting, fishing, and camping trips. Her creative spirit shone through in her arts and crafts, a hobby she pursued until her eyesight waned.
A woman of adventure, Carolyn never hesitated to embark on a road trip or feel the wind in her hair while riding her motorcycle. Her sense of adventure was matched only by her love for her family and friends. Carolyn’s home was a sanctuary, filled with laughter, warmth, and the irresistible aroma of her cooking. Her quick wit and warm smile were a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Thelma Redell, as well as her brothers, Randy and Kent Redell, and her sister, Charolette Clark. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her surviving family: her devoted son, Charles Oliver Jr., her beloved daughter, Cherry St. Aubin, and Cherry's husband, Jason. Carolyn was the cherished grandmother of Zachariah Huss and Melissa Huss, and a proud great-grandmother to Kynlee Huss. She is also survived by her sister, Brenda Scott, and Brenda's husband, Bob, as well as her brother, Dennis Redell, and Dennis's wife, Zola.
In her passing, Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Her generosity and warmth touched countless lives, and she was lovingly regarded as a mother to many. Though the number of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was none, her love extended far beyond bloodlines.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Carolyn's life, in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Carolyn's memory to a charity of your choice, as a testament to her generous spirit and love for community.
As we bid farewell to Carolyn Sue Oliver, let us celebrate the remarkable woman she was and carry forward the love and joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will forever dance in our hearts, a beautiful reminder of a life lived with passion, grace, and unwavering love.
