Carolyn Sue Faught, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the Ohio State University Hospital. Born on May 1, 1949, in Jackson County, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward B. and Phyllis A. (Mapes) Sheppard. Carolyn was also predeceased by her brother, Allen, and sister, Diana. Carolyn's journey began in Lancaster, Ohio, where she graduated from Lancaster High School in 1967. She embarked on her professional career as a licensed beautician, a role she embraced for three years. However, her adventurous spirit, dedication and marriage led her to a distinguished career with the Central Intelligence Agency. Carolyn's tenure with the CIA was marked by her adaptability and resilience, as she accompanied her family to diverse postings around the world, including Cyprus, Laos, Greece, Bangladesh, and Belgium, until her retirement in 1999. Her expertise covered Admin, Finance, Photography, & Computers over the years. Her life was a testament to her love for family and her boundless capacity for warmth and humor. Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, David, her daughter, Jeri L. Tinnell, and her son, Jason Faught. Her legacy lives on in her grand & great-grandchildren, who adored her for the love and laughter she brought into their lives. Carolyn's passions were as vibrant as her personality. She was an avid gardener, delighting in the beauty of flowers she lovingly tended throughout the seasons. Her home was a reflection of her joyful spirit, adorned with angel motifs and playful snowman characters that heralded the arrival of winter. Christmas music rang through her home each year, starting September 1st (a family tradition). Her loved ones remember Carolyn as a beacon of joy, whose smile could light up any room. She was a devoted grandmother, whose love knew no bounds, especially towards her three grandsons (Wesley, William, & Milo) and one great-grandson (Wyatt). Her family will forever cherish the memories they created together. In keeping with her family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held at some to honor Carolyn's life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of kind words and support during this difficult time. In memory of Carolyn, the family suggests contributions to be made to a charity of your choice that reflects her love for angels and her nurturing spirit. Carolyn Sue Faught's life was a testament to love, laughter, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
