With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Carolyn Schenck on July 18, 2026, at Nazareth Baptist Hospital, after a courageous battle. Born on October 5, 1945, in Philadelphia, Carolyn’s life was a testament to strength, grace, and an enduring love that she shared with everyone she encountered. Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Mamie Collier and Alphonso Williams, and was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Joan, Patricia, and Constance. Her legacy continues through her surviving siblings, Lawrence, Joyce, Deborah, and Stanley, who will forever treasure her memory. Carolyn was a devoted mother to her children, Ralph, Joan, Revoire, and Romont, and a proud grandmother to Justin, Latrice, Michael, Jennifer, Brandon, Tamara, Devonte, Revoire Jr., and Macy. She also leaves behind ten adored great-grandchildren, her cherished Triumph Baptist Church family, and numerous loving relatives and friends. Having attended Philadelphia public schools, Carolyn graduated from Simon Gratz High School, embarking on her professional journey at Alfred Angelo Bridal. There, she honed her skills as a couture bead embroiderer, making brides shine with her meticulous and creative touch long before the sparkle industry gained prominence. Carolyn’s life took a new direction with the birth of her children, as she embraced the role of a dedicated mother. She later channeled her talents into a successful career, first at R&R Realty for over a decade, and subsequently at Prudential Insurance for seventeen years. Her colleagues revered her as a dependable, hardworking, and organized professional who brought dedication and excellence to every task. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carolyn found joy in singing in the choir, lifting her voice in worship and fellowship at Triumph Baptist Church. Her passion and dedication contributed to the vibrant legacy of faith and community that continues in Philadelphia today. A service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bustleton Memorial American Legion, located at 9151 Old Newtown Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115. In honor of her memory, the family kindly suggests donations to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and compassion that defined Carolyn’s life.
