It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ruth Palacio, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born on May 11, 1944, in the quaint town of Grandview, West Virginia, Carolyn was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carolyn was the devoted daughter of Robert and Rita McDaniel, who predeceased her but forever remained in her heart. She carried forward their legacy of kindness and wisdom throughout her life. Her family and friends remember her as a beacon of warmth, always greeting others with a smile that could light up a room and a readiness to share her insights and wisdom.
Carolyn found great joy in her work and dedication, retiring after 15 fulfilling years at Craft. Her colleagues and friends cherished her for her diligence and caring spirit, which left an indelible mark on all who met her.
A woman of many talents, Carolyn had a passion for crochet and knitting, crafting beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for generations. She also had a love for travel, with Las Vegas being one of her favorite destinations. Her stories of these adventures were filled with laughter and joy, reflecting the vibrant life she lived.
Carolyn's greatest pride and joy lay in her family. She is survived by her loving children, Debra and Sam Stiles, Christopher Seward and Judy Harrington, and Robert and Tammy Seward. Her legacy continues through her four cherished grandchildren and five precious great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit with them. Her nurturing love and sage advice will be dearly missed but remembered in the countless memories she leaves behind.
Carolyn was not only a mother and grandmother but a friend to many. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity of spirit touched everyone she met. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the importance of family, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the honor of knowing her.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held in the coming days, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Carolyn's name, a fitting tribute to a woman who dedicated her life to the well-being of others.
As we say goodbye to Carolyn, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved parents, watching over her family with the same love and care she gave in life. Her legacy of love and compassion will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
