April 23, 1945 — May 16, 2026

In loving Memory of Carolyn L. Peaks It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Carolyn L. Peaks, who departed this world peacefully on May 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and unyielding love. Born on April 23, 1945, in Durham, North Carolina. Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Percy and Nellie Peaks. Carolyn’s life was a testament to the values instilled by her parents and the vibrant community that surrounded her. She leaves to cherish and mourn her loss two sisters, Iris Pollard, Betty Jean Peaks, and one brother, Ray A. Peaks. Carolyn was predeceased by her siblings, Lonnie Peaks, Percy Peaks Jr., Lydia Peaks, Claude Peaks, Joyce Peaks, Bessie Peaks, Dee Peaks, and Linda Peaks. Despite the profound loss of her beloved family member, Carolyn’s faith and resilience shone through, offering strength and comfort to those around her. Her dedication to serving others was evident in her active membership at Mount Level Baptist Church, where she served as a beacon of faith and a source of inspiration for over thirty years. Her voice, rich and soulful, filled the church with the uplifting melodies of gospel music that she so passionately sang. A gardener at heart, Carolyn found solace and joy in the simple beauty of nature. Her Garden was a sanctuary, a place where she nurtured not only plants but also the spirits of those who visited. Her love for gardening was not just a hobby but a metaphor for the care and attention she gave her family and friends. Her Memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Carolyn’s kindness, grace, and unwavering faith were the hallmarks of her life, and her influence will be felt for generations to come. As we gather to celebrate the life of Carolyn L. Peaks, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, prayers, and support that have been shared with us during this difficult time. Your presence and love have brought comfort to our hearts. In the words of Carolyn herself, let us remember to “tend to our gardens, both earthly and spiritual, with love and care”. May her soul rest in peace, enveloped in the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father.
