Carolyn Norris Wagner
September 18, 1948 — July 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Carolyn Norris Wagner, who left this world on July 8, 2026, to go see Jesus. Carolyn was born on September 18, 1948, in Coats, North Carolina, to the late Lathan and Ethelyn Norris. Her steadfast faith and dedication to her family and community were the touchstones of her life.
Carolyn was a loving wife to Sammy Wagner, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage since November 23, 1985. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Carolyn was the cherished mother of Christie Osorio and a devoted stepmother to Samantha Patton and her husband Kirk, and Casey Nunnery and her husband Daniel.
Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Beau Hendrickson, Stephany Oroszi, and Allison, as well as her step-grandchildren Katelyn Phillips and her husband Zac, Maddie Stephens and her wife Brittany Ireland, Joey Nunnery, and Will Nunnery. Carolyn also found immense joy in her great-grandchildren Joey, Bell, Faith, and Beau Hendrickson, and step-great-grandchild Winslee Phillips.
Carolyn’s heart was always open, and her family extended beyond her immediate kin. She was a beloved sister to Bobby Norris and his wife Linda, and a proud aunt to her nephew Daniel Norris.
A graduate of Coats High School in 1966, Carolyn was a dedicated worker who served the state of North Carolina for 30 years. Her career also included meaningful roles at Campbell University, Harnett County schools, Lillington Methodist Church, and as a transport driver for various Hendrick dealerships. Carolyn's work was a testament to her strong work ethic and commitment to serving others.
Carolyn had an enduring love for the written word and was an avid reader. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant flowers she tended with care. Her community was enriched by her dedication to youth at Coats Baptist Church, where she enjoyed many fulfilling years working with young people and guiding them with her wisdom and kindness.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carolyn’s life at a service held at Coats Baptist Church, where her generous spirit and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Carolyn's memory, honoring her spirit of generosity and care for others.
Carolyn’s warmth, love, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know her. As she rests in eternal peace, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
