It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Carolyn Andrews, affectionately known to many as "Smiley," on June 8, 2026. Carolyn slipped peacefully from this world at the age of 70, after years of courageously battling illness and debilitating conditions that impacted her both physically and mentally. Her unwavering spirit and strength were a testament to her faith and love for her family. Born on April 16, 1956, in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA, Carolyn was the beloved daughter of James Ervan and Willie Belle Andrews. She shared a deep and enduring bond with her family, cherishing her roots and the memories of her late mother, Willie Belle; her cherished Aunt, Rosie McRoy; her brother, Leon; and her sisters, Barbara and Beverly, who predeceased her. A proud alumna of William Penn High School, Carolyn graduated in 1974, embarking on a journey that would see her touch countless lives through her work. As an administrative assistant, Carolyn dedicated her professional life to several non-profit organizations, where her meticulous attention to detail and warm, engaging presence left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. Her commitment to serving others was deeply rooted in her faith, as she adored her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, living her life as a testament to His teachings. Though not an active member of a church family, Carolyn's spiritual life was rich and fulfilling. Her favorite pastimes included reading her Bible and spending cherished moments with her family, who were the center of her universe. Her daughter, Dasha; son-in-law, Stephen; and her beloved grandson, Jalen, brought her immense joy and pride. Her sisters, Pamela and Sandra, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her best friend, Gail, will forever hold her memory close. Carolyn was a beacon of warmth and humor, her nickname "Smiley" a perfect reflection of the infectious grin that could light up any room. Her dry wit, combined with a sincere and caring nature, endeared her to everyone she met. Her friends and acquaintances, all touched by her kindness and generosity, will miss her dearly. The Andrews family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, West Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and All-American Hospice Care, as well as to Amadorez Funeral Home, for their compassionate care and support. They also wish to thank everyone who offered prayers, condolences, and comforting words during this time of loss. As we gather to remember Carolyn's life and legacy, we celebrate a woman who embraced each day with grace, resilience, and an unwavering love for those around her. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A private gathering to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held at a later date, where her family and friends will come together to share stories, laughter, and tears, celebrating the beautiful soul that was Carolyn Andrews.
