With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Caroline Laurin, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, on July 8, 2026, at the age of 99. Caroline was born on March 28, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, where she spent her early years filled with love and laughter.
Caroline graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, and her journey through life was marked by dedication and compassion. She devoted her career to helping others as a medical assistant, a role in which she touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness.
Caroline's life was rich with love and family. She was the devoted wife of the late Alfred Del Giorno and Lester Laurin. Her legacy continues through her cherished children, Gary Borchard (Susan) and Karen Valdini (Joseph), who were the center of her world. Her family expanded with the addition of five adoring grandchildren—Kristin, Bryan, Brittany, Elizabeth, and Caroline—and she was further blessed with 14 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
A proud member of the Babylon Yacht Club, Caroline embraced a life filled with adventure and camaraderie. She had a passion for golf, tennis, and sailing, pursuits that reflected her zest for life and her love of the outdoors. Caroline was also known for her culinary talents, delighting family and friends with her cooking and baking, her kitchen always a place of warmth and comfort.
In her later years, Caroline traveled widely and found solace in the sunny embrace of Florida's winters, always eager to explore new places and create cherished memories with her loved ones. Her love of family was evident in all she did, her home a gathering place filled with laughter and love.
Caroline's life will be celebrated on July 12, 2026, at 2:00 -5:00 PM at Chapey Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life well-lived. Caroline's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Caroline's memory to a charity of your choice or Caroline’s favorite St. Jude reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
