October 31, 1958 — June 16, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life filled with love and laughter that we announce the passing of Carole Hamrock on June 16, 2026. Carole departed this world peacefully at Kettering Hospital, surrounded by her immediate family, after courageously battling several health-related issues. She was 67 years old. Born on October 31, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, Carole was the cherished daughter of Frank and Charlotte Schlemann. She grew up in a home filled with warmth, alongside her siblings Mike and Connie, who predeceased her. Carole's formative years were shaped in Dayton, where she graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1977. As a proud member of the Lionettes dance team, she learned the importance of teamwork and the joy of shared accomplishments, values she carried throughout her life. In May of 1988, Carole married the love of her life, Gerry, in a beautiful ceremony in Dayton. Together, they built a loving home and celebrated 38 wonderful years of marriage. Carole and Gerry's union was blessed with two children, Josh (married to Kara) and Lauren (married to Brian Holzapfel), who became the greatest joys of her life. Carole adored her family, and her heart was especially warmed by her granddaughter Marley, who brought an abundance of happiness into her life. Carole's professional journey began as a secretary at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where she met Gerry. Her career path later led her to find joy in selling Avon and nurturing young minds at various daycares. Carole's dedication and kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. In her later years, Carole found community and friendship at the Beavercreek Senior Center, where her social nature and infectious sense of humor shone brightly. She was a beloved season ticket holder at La Comedia Dinner Theatre, where she delighted in sharing the magic of live performances with friends and family. Carole had a zest for life and a passion for sports, unwaveringly supporting the Cincinnati Reds, UD Flyers, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Her love for board and card games, as well as puzzles, brought her countless hours of joy and camaraderie with friends and her beloved Gerry. Carole's unique sense of humor and her talent for bringing people together made her home a gathering place filled with laughter and love. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and her legacy of kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff of Kettering Health for their compassion and dedication during Carole's final journey. Their care and empathy provided immense comfort to Carole and her family. Carole leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband Gerry, her children Josh and Lauren, her granddaughter Marley, and all who were fortunate to know her. Though she is no longer with us, Carole's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Beavercreek Senior Center or La Comedia Dinner Theatre, in memory of Carole's vibrant spirit and her love for community and the arts. A celebration of Carole's life will be held at a later date, where stories and memories can be shared in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman. May Carole's memory be a blessing to us all.
