Carole Brown Ferguson, born on January 18, 1950, in Martinez, California, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Carole was a beacon of warmth and kindness, whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication.
Carole was the cherished daughter of the late Johnie Dixison and Barbara Harper. She was a devoted sister to Doris Snowden and brother-in-law Danny Snowden, and a beloved sister to Jerry Dixison. Her life was blessed with a loving marriage to Dr. Eddie W. Ferguson. Carole had a son Richard C. Fields Sr., who enriched Carole's life with five treasured grandchildren: Beonka Gervins, Jalesa Fluellen, Richarda Fields, Richard C. Fields Jr., and Ayannah R. Fields.
A proud graduate of Kennedy High School, Carole furthered her education with a master's degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix. She bravely served in the United States National Guard, earning an honorable discharge, and carried her commitment to service into her professional life as a bus driver and trainer with AC Transit. Carole's passion for helping others extended beyond her professional work, as she was known for her loving spirit and selfless nature, often serving as a bonus mother to many.
Carole's life was enriched by her involvement with the Baynorth Church of Christ in Fairfield, CA, and her membership in the Eastern Stars. She found joy and solace in fishing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family, always guided by her unwavering faith and devotion to the Lord.
Carole was predeceased by her parents, and brother Johnie Dixison jr, but her legacy of love and compassion lives on through her family and the many lives she touched. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Sutter Hospice for their compassionate care, with special thanks to Cousin Vivian Crear, caregiver Regina Jenkins, grandson Brandon Taylor, granddaughter Jalesa Fluellen, grandson Richard Fields Jr., and daughter-in-law Cynthia Fields.
A celebration of Carole's life will be held on September 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Baynorth Church of Christ, located at 2100 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Carole's memory to a charity of your choice.
