With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Wood Brant on January 16, 2026, at the age of 89, in the warmth of her beloved home. Born on September 13, 1936, in Brainard, MN, to Janet and Edwin Wood, Carol embodied a life filled with love, dedication, and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Carol's journey was one of devotion and passion. A graduate of West High School, she went on to earn a master's degree in teaching, a testament to her enduring commitment to education and nurturing young minds. Her career as a 5th-grade teacher at Lyndale Elementary School was more than just a profession; it was her calling. With unwavering passion and a heart full of love, Carol dedicated her life to inspiring her students, instilling in them a love for learning that would last a lifetime. In 1960, Carol married the love of her life, Robert Brant. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and laughter, becoming the proud parents of Karen and Michael Brant. As a family, they shared countless adventures, whether through Carol's love for tennis, her beautiful painting sessions, or their explorations of the world through hostels. Her strength and obedience to family were the pillars upon which the Brant family was built. Carol's life was a testament to the power of giving. She volunteered countless hours in service to others, always offering her time and compassion without hesitation. Her involvement with organizations such as the MS Society and the Cancer Society was driven by her desire to make a difference in the lives of those affected by illness. Her spirit of generosity extended even to smaller, personal acts of kindness, such as her support for the Go Fund Me for Cecilia. Her joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering support made her a cherished friend to many. She formed lifelong friendships that transcended the ordinary, touching lives with her kindness and warmth. Carol was the rock of her family, a steadfast presence who provided strength and love to her husband, Bob, especially during his battle with MS, and to her children, Karen and Mike, throughout their formative years. Though she is no longer with us, Carol's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless students she guided. Her family fondly remembers her as the unwavering foundation of their lives, always present with love and wisdom. Their special message reads: "She was the ROCK in our family! She was always there for Bob who had MS and there for Karen and Mike when they were growing up. Taught with passion and undevoted love. Volunteered countless hours in many ways to help others. Became life long friends with so many that she touched." In celebration of Carol's life, her family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the MS Society, the Cancer Society, or the Go Fund Me for Cecilia, continuing her legacy of giving and compassion. Carol Wood Brant will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, dedication, and the power of a giving heart. May she rest in peace, her legacy shining brightly in the lives of all who knew her.
