Born in Calgary, Alberta, on October 6, 1964, Lynn was the cherished daughter of Leona and Ralph Johnston. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, her brother Bob, and brother-in-law Dave. Her legacy of love continues through her devoted sister Karen Kirkeby, her sister-in-law Heather Johnston, and her adoring nieces and nephews: Mark, Kristie Kuhn (Shane), Chad, and Joanne (Nick). Lynn's great-nephews, Hayden and Arlo Kuhn, along with Joshua (Kaycee), were a source of immense joy and pride for her. Lynn's educational journey took her through Christine Meikle School, King George, and AE Cross. After her schooling, she became a vibrant participant in the day programs at VRRI and later, upon her move to Strathmore in 2022, with FAIM. These organizations played a crucial role in supporting her volunteer work, helping her find employment, and assisting with her daily activities. A spirited athlete, Lynn was a beacon of enthusiasm and energy in the Calgary Special Olympics. She excelled in competitive swimming, synchronized swimming, golf, bowling, and figure skating, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and competition. Her love for sports extended beyond participation; she was an ardent supporter of the Calgary Flames and the Stampeders, cheering them on with an unwavering passion. Lynn’s creativity shone brightly in her love for crafts, especially coloring. As well, music was a passion for Lynn and you could always find her with her guitar strumming along and singing if there was a sing-a-long around the campfire with her beach family at Mara Lake. She embraced exercise and sports with gusto, bringing vitality and joy to those around her. Known for her infectious smile and kind heart, Lynn left an ever lasting mark on everyone she encountered, forever remembered for her ability to bring warmth and happiness to any room.
