In Loving Memory

Carol Lynn Gilbert
April 30, 1971 — October 3, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Lynn Gilbert, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly on October 3, 2026, due to a tragic motor vehicle accident. Born on April 30, 1971, in the welcoming town of Lenoir, North Carolina, Carol brought light and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carol was the cherished daughter of Patricia Clonch, who preceded her in death. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her devoted husband, Vilas Mark Gilbert, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with family and friends.
As a nurturing and dedicated mother, Carol's greatest pride and joy were her children: Angelica Triplett and her husband Dustin, Andrew Gilbert and his wife Sarah, and Anthony Gilbert with his spouse Eva Greene. Carol's heart expanded further with the arrival of her grandchildren, Andrea, Autumn, Tristan, Aydean, Jade, Austin, Lillyanna, and Xander, whose lives she enriched with her boundless affection and wisdom.
Carol is also survived by her loving siblings, Tamala Coffey, Althnita Barr, and Chad Miller, who will forever cherish their memories with their beloved sister.
Throughout her life, Carol was known for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering strength. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit indomitable, and her generosity knew no bounds. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and loved, a gift she shared freely with those around her.
In honoring Carol's memory, the family invites those who wish to make a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting Carol's own generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
While Carol's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will endure in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Carol Lynn Gilbert welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
