Carol J Meacham

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol J. Meacham, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Carol was born on May 3, 1944, in River Falls, Wisconsin, to Vernon and Stella Leonard. Her life's journey came to a close on October 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with kidney disease, multiple myeloma, and other health issues. Carol's life was a testament to love, resilience, and community. She grew up in a nurturing family environment and carried those values forward throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister and brother-in-law Myrna and Hank Hanson, and her great-grandson Haile. These losses deeply touched her, but Carol's spirit remained unwavering as she continued to spread love and kindness to those around her. On December 5, 1975, Carol married the love of her life, John Meacham, at Peace Reform Church in Eagan, Minnesota. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Over their 50 years of marriage, they welcomed three wonderful children: Jeff, Jim (married to Sue), and Jeanette (married to Don), who brought into their lives eight treasured grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Carol was a pillar of strength and joy in her family and community. Her infectious smile and warm, welcoming nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a passion for baking and sewing, crafting beautiful quilts for her grandchildren, each stitch a symbol of her love and devotion. Her commitment to service shone brightly through her involvement in church activities, particularly the Cursillo program, and her instrumental role in establishing Alban's Table, a community dinner program providing free meals across five churches. Carol's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to her church community, where she formed deep bonds. Her legacy of generosity and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at HCA Fawcett Hospital, Sun Shore Rehab Center, and Tidewell Hospice for their unwavering dedication and compassion during Carol's final days. In memory of Carol, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice, honoring her lifelong commitment to helping others.
