Carol Hooten

Carol Jean Pollock Hooten passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 surrounded by her children. Born on March 30, 1947, to Imogene and Clarence Pollock, Carol was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Carol's early years in Dewitt were marked by a deep sense of family and community, values instilled by her parents, Imogene and the late Clarence Pollock. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met with her warmth and kindness. In her adult life, Carol found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Dennis. She was a loving Mother to her children Tracy (Wayne) Watkins and Shain (Heather) Parker of DeWitt. Carol's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Bradley Wise, Morgan Wise, Cary Wise, Travis Watkins, Casey Nickelson, Joseph Parker, Nathan Parker, Kaelyn Ellenburg, Dax Whitmore, and Dare Whitmore, and 21 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Carol was also a beloved sister to Kathy Mathews and Jamie Oberlag, and her bond with them highlighted the importance of family ties that she cherished. She was a loving daughter to her Mother, Imogene, and spent many hours visiting with her mother at Crestpark and taking care of her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you would make a donation to the DHNH Ladies Auxillary. The family of Carol Hooten would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Dewitt City Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness they provided during her final days. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Arrangements will be announced.
