On April 4, 1974, Carol married the love of her life, Richard Breen, marking the beginning of a beautiful 52-year journey filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Craig Guston Porter and Cassandra Breen Damwijk, who carry forward Carol's legacy of kindness and dedication. Carol was also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, nurturing her family with the same love and care she offered to her students.
Outside of her professional life, Carol was a spirited adventurer. She found joy on the water, embracing the serenity of boating, the thrill of fishing, and the beauty of snorkeling. Her love for the sea also took her on small ship cruises, where she would revel in the vastness of the ocean. An avid dancer, Carol delighted in clogging and line dancing, often bringing her husband onto the dance floor with her infectious enthusiasm. Her creative spirit shone through her love of painting and working with clay, where she expressed her artistic vision with grace and skill.
