It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Williams, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Carol passed away unexpectedly at her home in North Port, Florida, on March 8, 2026, after a short illness. She was 54 years old.
Born on May 5, 1971, in North Adams, Massachusetts, Carol was the cherished daughter of Raymond C. Hartman of Williamstown, MA, and Linda A. (Burgmaster) Hartman of Pownal, VT. Carol's life was a testament to love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her dear grandparents, Frank and Clara Burgmaster, and Charles and Irene Hartman, her uncle Frank Burgmaster Jr., Aunts Diane Murphy, Linda Jane Hartman and brother Edward who passed in infancy. Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Louis Williams of North Port, FL. She also leaves behind her loving brothers, Raymond Hartman Jr., Michael Hartman and his wife Antoinette of Pownal, VT, and Joseph Hartman with his significant other Laurie of North Adams, MA. She was the proud and loving mother of her two sons, Joshua Harding and his wife Chelsea of Woodford, VT, and Christopher Harding of Pownal, VT. Carol's legacy continues through her many cherished nieces and nephews, several grandchildren and beloved pets, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Carol's compassion and empathy were evident in her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After graduating from the Putnam School of Practical Nursing in 1995, she dedicated 30 years to the nursing profession, touching countless lives with her kindness and expertise. Her commitment was most notably demonstrated during her years at Williamstown Commons and continued when she relocated to Florida, where her steadfast dedication to her patients persisted until her health declined.
A woman of many talents, Carol was an accomplished gymnast during her childhood at the YMCA, showcasing her dedication and discipline. She had a deep love for the ocean and found serenity in the rhythmic ebb and flow of the waves. Her creativity flourished through painting and crafts, and she possessed a remarkable green thumb, nurturing plants to life with the same care she bestowed upon those around her.
Carol's life was characterized by her nurturing spirit, particularly evident in her role as a caregiver. She loved her mother and friends deeply, always offering support with open arms and a warm heart.

Remembrance service for life of Carol
Williams will be held Wednesday July 15 th at 1pm. At Sherman Burbank Memorial chapel in williamstown, Ma. Rev.Nathanial Anderson of St. John’s episcopal church to officiate.
