Carol Ann Kopp, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at home on June 27, 2026, after a courageous battle that demonstrated her indomitable spirit. Born on February 12, 1941, in Richmond, California, Carol was a beacon of strength and grace throughout her 85 years.
Carol was predeceased by her loving parents, Frank and Hilda Davilla, her sister Shirley Lucas, and her niece Nancy Lucas. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Kopp. Carol raised two wonderful children, Steven Kopp and Stacy McPherson. Carol's legacy of love continues through her children’s families, including her daughter-in-law Resa Kopp, son-in-law Keith McPherson, and her grandchildren Amanda Kopp, Samantha Kopp, Matthew McPherson, Ryan Kopp, and Christopher McPherson.
In her professional life, Carol worked for AAA and Mechanics Bank. After Robert's father's passing, Robert and Carol purchased Continental Electric, an electrical contracting company founded by Robert's father, Charles Kopp, and continued the family's legacy. Carol served as the company's Secretary and Treasurer for over 30 years.
Carol was a member of the Pinole Exchange Club and the Holy Ghost Society. She enjoyed trips to casinos in Tahoe and Reno, indulging in spa days with the women of her family, and cherishing any opportunity to gather with her entire family. Her impeccably maintained red hair and nails were her trademark.
A proud and feisty Portuguese woman, Carol was known for her strong faith and her unwavering commitment to her family. Her life was a testament to courage and resilience, having triumphed over breast cancer and bravely facing decades of chronic pain and numerous health challenges with grace.
The Kopp family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers from Arosa who provided excellent in-home care, ensuring Carol's comfort and dignity throughout her final days.
A service to celebrate Carol's remarkable life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilson and Kratzer Civic Center Chapel, located at 455 24th St., Richmond, CA. Family and friends are invited to join to honor a long life lived. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Carol Ann Kopp will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
