Carmine Hope Wilson

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Carmine Hope Wilson at Brookdale Memory Care. Born on September 11, 1937, in Hermiston, Oregon, Carmine lived a life rich in love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community. Carmine was the cherished daughter of Chester and Rose Wilson, who predeceased her, along with her brothers, Lonnie Wilson, Jim Wilson and John Wilson. She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Lerry Wilson; her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Chuck Bartlett; her beloved Aunt Joy Bauer, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends were always at the center of Carmine’s life, and her generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Carmine attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO and completed a Master of Arts degree at San Jose State University. Her professional life was devoted to education, predominantly as a registrar at Bethany College in Scotts Valley, California. Over her 33-year career, she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues before retiring in 1998, at which time she relocated to Tucson, Arizona. Carmine was a woman of deep faith, and her spiritual journey led her to become a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Tucson. She found joy and purpose in Bible Study Fellowship and completed the Alpha Course, further serving her community as a Stephen Minister. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. An outdoor enthusiast, Carmine found joy in nature, often hiking and backpacking in the majestic high Sierras at Yosemite with friends and family. She also enjoyed water aerobics, gardening, and reading. Her sense of adventure was evident in her love for cruising to the Caribbeans and Alaska, often accompanied by her aunts, Ruth Fagerstrom and Joy Bauer. In 2019, Carmine followed her Aunt Joy and family to Bend, Oregon, where she purchased a home and embraced her new community. She delighted in shopping trips, Amtrak trips, and family gatherings, always bringing warmth and laughter with her. Carmine's sense of humor, kindness, and sweetness were qualities often celebrated by those who cared for her at Brookdale Memory Care. Carmine’s family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Brookdale and the devoted angels at Partners in Care for their unwavering love and support. A private funeral service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Carmine Hope Wilson. Carmine’s legacy of love and laughter will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
