Carmen Michelle Hutcherson, a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on February 5, 1983, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Carmen graced the world with her kindness, warmth, and infectious smile for 43 beautiful years.
Carmen was the cherished daughter of Stephen and Katherine Hutcherson and the beloved mother of Olivia Grace Stewart, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her devoted brother, Devon Hutcherson, and her adored nephew, Chase Guida. Carmen’s family extended far and wide, including her aunts Joan Jackson, Lisa Belmar, Janet Fitts, Judy (David) Pinner; uncles George Belmar and Paul Hutcherson; and a multitude of cousins, including Karen (Michael) Smith, Kiesha Smith, Toya Smith, Amari Aaron, Amya Streaty, Derrick Belmar, Madonna Markey, Harvey Fitts, DeAndrea Belmar, Alonie Belmar III, Anthony Belmar, Gregory Belmar, and Ashley Miller. She was predeceased by her fraternal grandmother, Mary Lou Hutcherson, and maternal grandparents, George and Mathaline Belmar.
Carmen’s life was enriched by the love of many special friends, including Lieu. Vincent Stewart and Erika Pitts, as well as her cherished Purpose of Life Church Family. A devoted member of the New Haven Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Carmen’s faith was a guiding light in her life.
Education was important to Carmen, who began her academic journey at St. Michaels Catholic School and Westlane Elementary before graduating from North Central High School. She continued her education at Indiana State University, where she expanded her horizons and forged lifelong friendships.
In her professional life, Carmen was a dedicated Titles Specialist at Location Services, LLC, where she was known for her diligence, expertise, and warm personality. Her colleagues and clients alike appreciated her commitment and her ever-present smile.
Carmen had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. An avid social media enthusiast, she loved connecting with others and sharing moments of joy and inspiration. Gospel music filled her soul, and she found immense happiness in the company of her family and friends. Above all, her daughter Olivia was the center of her universe, and her love for her was boundless and unwavering.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Eskanzie Hospital, Indiana Donor Network Staff, and the Purpose of Life Church Family for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
