It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carmela Lenise Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Carmela departed this world on July 24, 2026, at the age of 58. She was born on October 18, 1967, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she spent a lifetime bringing joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Carmela was a proud graduate of Paul Harding High School, class of 1986. Her dedication and commitment led her to a rewarding career with the State of Indiana, where she worked diligently until her departure. Beyond her professional life, Carmela was a devoted member of the True Love Missionary Baptist Church, where her spirit and faith were a beacon of comfort and guidance to many. In her personal life, Carmela was known for her infectious laughter and her unparalleled sense of humor. She had an extraordinary ability to bring joy to everyday moments, never complaining, always finding a reason to smile, and sharing that joy with those around her. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to everyone she met. Carmela found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for bingo, often playing with a level of enthusiasm and skill that was unmatched. She also enjoyed playing bid whist and word games, activities that showcased her sharp mind and competitive spirit. She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her son, Rodrell (Robeshia) Davis; daughter, Carmeisha Majors; grandsons, Rodrell Jr. and Rayvon Davis; her siblings, Sanders Jr. (Verlinda), Deon Sr. (Alishia) Davis, Alan Wyatt, Shirlene (James) Stephens, Kathy Davis, Janice Wyatt, and Linda (Anthony) Owens; and a special friend, Mark Virges. Carmela was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sanders Sr. and Stella Davis, her brothers Alvin and Bryant Davis, and her cherished grandparents, Alfonso and Lena Davis, and William and Louise McKinney. Though her time with us was too brief, the legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that Carmela leaves behind will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on through her family, her friends, and the countless lives she touched. Carmela Lenise Davis will be dearly missed but never forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace. A memorial service will take place at 12 pm on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Come As You Are Community Church. 7910 S. Anthony Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN 46816. A repast will take place after the service.
