Carlos Martinez

August 4, 1967 — July 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Carlos Martinez, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Carlos was born on August 4, 1967, in Eagle Pass, Texas, and departed this world on July 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Carlos was the beloved son of Carlos Martinez Sr. and Maria Del Socorro Martinez, who survive him, along with his brothers Cesar and Robert. On May 4, 1986, Carlos married the love of his life, Cecilia, in a beautiful ceremony in Eagle Pass. Together, they shared 42 wonderful years, raising four children—Erika, Carlos, Armando, and Valerie—in a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. A proud graduate of Eagle Pass High School in 1986, Carlos continued his education at Southwest Texas Junior College, laying a strong foundation for a fulfilling career. For 25 dedicated years, he served as a case manager at the Middle Rio Grande Development Council, retiring in 2011. Through his work, Carlos touched countless lives, offering support and guidance with a compassionate heart. Carlos had a zest for life that was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He loved cooking out, filling the air with the mouthwatering aroma of barbecue, and sharing these moments with family and friends. Music was another passion, providing a soundtrack to the many happy moments of his life. An avid hunter, Carlos cherished the time spent in nature, experiencing its beauty and tranquility. Perhaps what Carlos will be remembered for most was his remarkable ability to make people laugh. He had a talent for storytelling and a gift for humor that brought joy to everyone around him. Whether telling a joke or spinning a tale, Carlos had a way of lifting spirits and brightening even the darkest days. Carlos is survived by his devoted wife, Cecilia, his children, and their families, which include his son-in-law Joshua Patlan, his mother-in-law Elvira, and his treasured grandchildren, Jordan and Sofia. He was a beacon of love and strength for his family, who will continue to honor his memory by living their lives inspired by his example. A service celebrating Carlos's life will be held on July 13, 2026, where family and friends will gather to remember the extraordinary man who touched their lives so deeply. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Carlos's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and love for helping others. Carlos Martinez will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
