In Loving Memory

Carlos Martinez
January 7, 1959 — July 31, 2026
Carlos Martinez, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 31, 2026, after a courageous year-long battle with lymphoma cancer at The Heights of Tomball. Born on January 7, 1959, in Houston, Texas, Carlos lived a life rich with warmth, determination, and love.
Carlos was the cherished son of the late Carlos Martinez Sr. and Leocadia Martinez, and he is now reunited with them, along with his siblings Simon R. Flores and Roseanne Flores. He leaves behind a family who deeply admired and loved him, including his devoted sister Jayne Gonzales Jecmenek, brothers Daniel Gonzales and Adrian Flores, and his treasured daughters Michelle Martinez and Vanessa Martinez.
Carlos's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. After earning his GED on June 30, 2004, he pursued his passion for the open road by obtaining a Truck Driving Certificate from Lee College in 2005. His career spanned over three decades, beginning with a five-year tenure at the Manchester Sling Company, followed by 15 years as a truck driver with Angelica. Ultimately, he found his calling and greatest joy at R. Deans Trucking, where he worked for 12 years.
Carlos was a man who found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. A self-described loner, he cherished time spent fishing, particularly saltwater fishing, which served as his favorite pastime. Despite his solitary nature, the warmth of family drew him in during the holidays, especially to his sister Jayne's home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, where he enjoyed taking leftovers home to savor.
His love for his family was profound, and he took immense pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carlos's legacy is one of resilience, hard work, and unwavering love for those close to him.
A memorial service to celebrate Carlos's life will be held on October 4, 2026, at The Brook Church, located at 11416 Spring Cypress Rd., at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
The Martinez family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at MD Anderson Hospital for their compassionate care during Carlos's battle with cancer. As they honor his memory, they take solace in the thought that Carlos will remain "Forever In Our Hearts."
