It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Carl Turks, who departed this earthly life on April 17, 2026, at the age of 63. Carl was born on April 30, 1962, in the vibrant city of St. Louis, a place that would shape his early years and instill in him the values of community and family that he cherished throughout his life. Carl was the beloved son of the late Leola Turks, who preceded him in death and who undoubtedly welcomed her son with open arms into eternal rest. He was also predeceased by his brother, Willie Mcgree, with whom he shared countless childhood memories and adventures. Carl is survived by his loving children: Nakia Timmons, Donte Turks, Carl Turks Jr., and Iesha Price, each of whom carry forward his legacy of love, humor, and strength. He was the proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren, who were the light of his life and whom he adored beyond measure. Educated at Oakland City High School, Carl pursued a fulfilling career with Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated 15 years of hard work and commitment. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and resilience, qualities he carried through every endeavor. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Carl was a man of many passions. He found great joy in the serenity of fishing, the freedom of riding his motorcycle, and the creativity of cooking. His meals were legendary among family and friends, who gathered around his table not just for nourishment, but for the warmth and laughter that came with Carl's presence. Perhaps most memorable was Carl’s humor, a gift that brought smiles and joy to all who knew him. His laughter was infectious, and his stories were filled with wit and wisdom. Through his humor, he shared his love for Christ, inspiring others with his faith and kindness. Carl's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, as he wished, surrounded by those who held him dear. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts and lives of those he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honor Carl's memory consider sharing a meal with loved ones, telling a favorite joke, or spending a quiet day fishing—all activities that Carl cherished and that reflect his spirit. As we say goodbye to Carl Turks, we hold close the memories of his laughter, his love, and his unwavering faith. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
