Carl Miller, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on July 1, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on May 11, 1967, in Memphis, Tennessee, Carl was a cherished son of Fletcher Miller and Carl Edwards. His life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and kindness.
Carl spent his formative years in Memphis, graduating from Mitchell High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships. His affinity for working with his hands led him to a fulfilling 25-year career at Graham's Lighting Fixtures, where he served as a metal finisher. Carl found great joy and pride in his craft, contributing to the beauty and functionality of countless homes and buildings.
In 2002, Carl married the love of his life, Kaletha James Miller, on November 29. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising a large and loving family. Carl is survived by his devoted wife Kaletha, and their children: Carl Miller Jr., Carlos Miller, Demarcus Miller, Elbany Miller, and Karlisha Miller. He was also a caring father to Alexandria James, Julius James, Suadavius James, and LaTerrius James. The joy of his life extended to his role as a grandfather to ten grandchildren, whom he adored deeply.
Carl is also survived by his sisters, Mary Weaver (Luke), Yolanda James, and Chiquita Edwards, and his brother, Darnell Edwards. His family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in the bonds they shared.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Methodist Hospice team for their compassionate care and to all those who supported Carl in his final days. In keeping with Carl's loving and humble nature, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy.
In remembrance of Carl's generous spirit, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his name.
Carl's warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew him.
