Carl Lowery

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Carl Lowery on August 31, 2026. Born on May 27, 1946, in Laquey, Missouri, Carl was the son of Travis and Vera Lowery. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Dye, and his brother, J.T. Lowery. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Marilyn, his children, Dewayne (Carey) Lowery and Alicia (Brian) Clark, his grandchildren, Molly (Shane) Conaty, Maggie Lowery, and great-granddaughter Charlotte Conaty. He is also survived by his siblings Alvin (Dottie) Lowery, Pansy (Roy) Richardson, and Fern Lile. Carl graduated from Richland High School in 1964 and soon after answered the call to serve his country. He served in the US Air Force as a weapons mechanic, with postings in Germany and Libya. Upon returning home, Carl continued to work as a mechanic and later as a trusted automotive parts specialist within his community. A man of few words, Carl possessed a dry sense of humor, often surprising those around him with a quick-witted pun. He was known for his ability to fix anything with a motor, earning him the affectionate reputation of being the go-to person for all things broken. His passion for cars, particularly Dodges, was only rivaled by his love for traveling with his wife and fishing with his brother. In the summers and in retirement, he enjoyed camping. No doubt part of the allure of camping was towing his camper with his Dodge truck. Carl was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ, where his kindness and willingness to help others were felt by many. His quiet strength and selfless nature touched the lives of those who knew him. A service to honor Carl's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at the Camdenton Church of Christ in Camdenton, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks and Fair Haven Children's Home in Strafford, MO.
