Carl Heard

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Carl Heard, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on October 30, 2026. Born on July 31, 1962, in Augusta, Arkansas, Carl was a beacon of warmth and strength to all who knew him. Carl was the beloved son of John and Pearleatha Heard, who preceded him in death, along with his dear brothers, Johnny Heard and Larry Wesson. Raised in a home filled with love and resilience, Carl learned early the values of hard work and dedication, which he carried with him throughout his life. A devoted husband, Carl leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Heard. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, including his children Amanda (Eric) Winfrey, Sandra (Nakia) Robinson of Conway, AR, Cassandra (Frank) Haggins of Augusta, AR, and William Simmons of Green Brier, AR. Carl also embraced his role as a father to his bonus children, Ronnie (Amber) Flyod and Micheal (Krussandra) Flyod of Crystal Springs, MS. Carl's legacy is further enriched by his grandchildren Krista, Meshe'ala, and Xavier Robinson of Conway, AR, and Heustan Haggins of Augusta, AR, as well as his great-grandchild, Jayden Mcgahee of Conway, AR. He cherished every moment spent with them, always eager to share stories and wisdom from his own life. He is survived by his siblings, Betty Pilgrim, Mary Austin, Dorothy (Irvin) Wright, Jerry Heard, and Tony (Lotina) Heard of Augusta, AR. Carl was a steadfast brother, whose loyalty and kindness were constants in the lives of his siblings. Carl's life was marked by his deep faith and commitment to his community. He joined Harris Chapel Church at an early age, where his spirit and dedication touched many lives. His passions extended beyond family and faith; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, pursuits that connected him to nature and brought him joy and peace. To honor the life of Carl Heard, a service will be held on November 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Powell Funeral Home, located at 700 N 9th St, Augusta, AR 72006. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to a charity of your choice, reflecting Carl's generous spirit and his belief in helping others. Carl Heard will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, wisdom, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
