Carl left us on September 29, 2026, due to complications during surgery, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born on November 20, 1954, in Corning, NY, Carl was the cherished son of John and Beatrice Johansen. He was preceded in death by his father, John Johansen; sister, whose name is fondly remembered; his daughter, Tamara Hough; and his mother, Mary Johansen. In his passing, Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Patricia Johansen, whose steadfast partnership was the cornerstone of his life. Carl's family was the pride of his life, and he leaves behind his children: Stephen Johansen, Hilary, Misty, Lori Peercy, and Debra Zuk. His legacy continues in his grandchildren: Jamie Wilson, Jeremy Adams, Jacob Adams, Johnny Storm, Julite Storm, Jonathan Hough, Amber Hough, and Deserey Timpleton, as well as his great-grandchildren: Jonathan's children, Asanya, Namilla, Riumi Timpleton, and Judah Wilson. Carl was also beloved by his stepmother, Beatrice Johansen, and his siblings, brothers George Johansen, Michael Ruocco, TJ Johansen, and sister Hilda, whose lives he touched deeply. A proud veteran, Carl served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1974, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to service and duty. After his military service, Carl pursued his passion for science, graduating from Pima College with an Associate of Science degree. His career as an Anodizing Specialist spanned over two decades, where he was known for his dedication and expertise. Carl's life was enriched by his involvement in community organizations, particularly those dedicated to the well-being of dogs, reflecting his compassionate heart and love for animals. His hobbies and interests, though not explicitly mentioned, were undoubtedly shared with those he loved, and his gruff exterior was a testament to his protective nature and deep love for family and friends. His willingness to help and care for others will be remembered as a defining trait of his character.
