Carl's remarkable journey was marked by kindness, service, and an unyielding zest for life.
Carl was the beloved son of the late Carl Sr. (affectionately known as Boots) and Thelma (Ruth) Katschman. He was predeceased by his sister and brother. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Katherine (Katy), with whom he shared a life of love and partnership.

Over his distinguished 20-year military career, he served with dedication aboard the USS Hopewell DD 681, USS John S. McCain DL3, and the USS Renchaw DDE 499. As an Aviation Structural Mechanic, he was known for his exceptional skills and unwavering commitment, retiring from his service aboard the USS Kitty Hawk.
After his military career, Carl embraced his entrepreneurial spirit by becoming a resort owner and operator in Rockaway Beach, MO alongside his wife Katy, for four decades. His leadership and vision also led him to serve as the city's mayor, where his charm and humor made him a beloved figure in the community.
Carl's life was rich with family. He was the cherished father of Carla May, Dorsey (Judith), Samantha, and Melanie (Jim). He also embraced his extended family, including stepchildren Joseph (Regina), Eufelia (Tim), Kristi (Scott), and David (Angela).
