It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl B. Woods, a cherished father, brother, and friend, who left this world on September 15, 2026. Born on June 24, 1953, Carl was a beloved son to the late James W. Woods and Jernise Henson Woods, a devoted brother to the late Larnell F. Woods, and devote uncle to nephew William Woods who also preceded him in death. Carl grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Fredrick Douglass High School in 1971. He pursued his passion for music at Langston University, majoring in Music Administration. Carl's love for music was a constant throughout his life, and he found immense joy in sharing this appreciation with those around him. His career path led him to San Francisco, California, where he dedicated twenty years as a Security Officer at the Hyatt Regency. During his tenure, Carl had the unique opportunity to escort numerous stars, a role that combined his professional acumen with his personable nature. Beyond his professional life, Carl was a man of diverse interests. He was an avid admirer of music, finding particular delight in music appreciation. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he engaged in Bible study with sincerity and devotion. Carl also had a passion for automobiles, frequently attending car shows and drag races, where he marveled at the engineering wonders and the thrill of speed. Carl's warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Ebone' Brucha Isreal, and his devoted brothers, James Woods Jr. (Tammi) and Charles E. Woods (Rebecca). His family, including nephews and nieces Larnell Muhammad, Carol Woods, Anthony (Tony) Woods, Rene Sledge, Jackie Ollison, Mike Woods, Ben Woods, Tammi Woods, Anthony Woods, Jayden Winder, and Jada Winder along with an extended community of friends and colleagues, will dearly miss his infectious laughter and unwavering kindness. In honor of Carl's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity or organization of your choice, reflecting Carl's spirit of giving and community. As we say goodbye to Carl, we hold on to the countless memories and the love he shared so freely. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us, a testament to a life well-lived.
